Let’s make yoga an easier choice!

My goal for The Amethyst Yogi, from the start, has been to make yoga an easier choice. To do this, we’ve explored how to remove common barriers.

Location

We started as a nomadic studio, sharing space with other businesses. This allowed us to hold classes all over town, so students could find a spot closest or easiest to access for them. It also brought a unique sense of community and familiarity to the space. For some, it could be mentally easier to walk into a coffee shop or store than a yoga studio.

We now have our own home studio, located in SW Rochester at 1221 3rd Ave SW, Suite 240. This space is a welcoming, safe, inspiring, and supportive place for all. This home base will allow us to create more consistency for our students who choose to practice in-studio.

But don’t worry, we’ll still have some classes hosted around town! And don’t forget, we offer options for private yoga sessions, as well as workplace classes that travel to you.

Cost

Practicing yoga in-person at a studio can get pricey. And while I’m a strong believer that it’s an important investment, it can be out of reach for many!

We believe that our community is capable of supporting each other to make an affordable, high-quality yoga studio possible. Our classes start at just $8, with add-on options available for those who are able to support more monetarily. We also have class bundles and unlimited class subscriptions available.

Beyond this, we have:

  • a community-funded scholarship to help students pay for tuition packages

  • free & donation-based community classes & events

  • work trade options to exchange help around the studio for class passes

We want you in the studio, sharing your energy with us!

Meet your instructor

Rachel began her love of movement in musical theater and dance. After an injury in college she struggled to keep up with a life of dance and began seeking out something to fill that hole. After a few yoga classes she knew she found exactly what she needed.

With over 10 years of experience in instructing students in movement, Rachel has found a calling to explore how yoga, dance, stretching, and other modalities of movement impact a person's wellness. Inspired by the unique pairing of physicality and spirituality that yoga provides, Rachel hopes to create a space where yogis can explore various levels of each to find how yoga can enhance their lives.

Rachel holds her 200-hr Yoga Teacher Certification from a Yoga Alliance Approved Yoga School.
